Understanding a collaborator’s status is crucial for troubleshooting contact synchronization issues. Ideally, the status should be ✔ (normal). If the status is other than normal, it must be addressed accordingly to ensure that shared contact updates are propagated among all the collaborators.
This article explains how to check a collaborator’s status based on whether you are an administrator or not an administrator.
There are two methods to verify a collaborator’s status in Shared Contacts for Gmail™:
This method is ideal when you need to check the status of all users at once and view their access to multiple labels.
Click on the “Sign in with Google” button on the top right corner of this page.

From this page, you can also:
✅ Monitor the number of purchased licenses, used app licenses, and available licenses.
✅ Easily view all users or admins.
✅ Add a licensed user.
✅ Know the roles of the collaborators in the app (admin or user). Learn more about it here.
✅ Check if the collaborator is licensed.
✅ See all labels a collaborator has access to.
If you need to check the status of each collaborator for a particular label, follow these steps:
Click on the “Sign in with Google” button on the top right corner of this page.
If you have multiple labels, use the Search Contact Lists bar for quick access. Click the Share icon next to the label where you want to check the collaborator’s status.
Ideally, all have green checks indicating normal status.
From this pop-up, you can also:
✅ Add people and groups as collaborators.
✅ Enable or disable contact sharing on a collaborator’s mobile device or Outlook using the toggle switch.
✅ Adjust the collaborator’s access permissions. Learn more about permissions here.
✅ Set the fields to be hidden when you click Fields. Learn more about hidden fields here.
✅ Delete people and groups as collaborators.
*Note: To view the collaborator status of each group member, click on “view group members” and another pop-up will appear that shows the collaborator status of each member.
