How to Authorize Shared Contacts for Gmail™ to Access Your Google Contacts

Shared Contacts for Gmail™ lets you effortlessly share your Google contacts or access your teammates’ contacts on any device, inside the Google ecosystem (Gmail, Docs, Calendar etc.) as well as within thousands of integrated apps like WhatsApp, Zoom, and more.

Since Shared Contacts for Gmail™ is fully integrated with your Google Contacts, you must first grant the necessary permissions to access your contacts before you can start sharing and collaborating.

Why Does the App Require These Permissions?

  • Access to your Google account information: 
    • Ensure you are the logged in user
    • Display your name, email address, and picture in the application
  • Access to your Google  contacts : 
    • To show you Google Contacts
    • To Add the contacts that are shared with you in your Google Contacts
    • To allow you to create/update/delete contacts through the application

How to Grant Access to Your Google Contacts

  • Access Shared Contacts for Gmail™ dashboard: on https://app.getsharedcontacts.com or by clicking on the “Sign in with Google” button at the top of this page.

After choosing one of these options, you’ll be guided to:

  • Verify Your Google Account: Confirm the account you want to use for contact sharing.
  • Grant the app permission to access your Google Account.
  • Grant Permission for the app to have additional access to your Google Account. 

Shared Contacts for Gmail™ already has access to 3 services from your Google Account, as previously granted. Now, it is requesting additional permissions.

Review the app’s access request, along with its terms of service and privacy policy. If you agree, click “Continue” to proceed.

That’s it! Once you’ve granted the necessary permissions, you can seamlessly share and access contacts across all your devices. Enjoy easier collaboration and more efficient contact management with Shared Contacts for Gmail™.
